Safy : a tool for a safer society
June 26, 2020

“Resser decided to take action in the wake of growing insecurity in Mexico, developing safy to create safe zones and user networks

Timeline

The fundamental purpose of Safy was to provide citizens with a tool to create networks and safe areas with their loved ones to care for each other remotely.

Safy was very well received by young women, sadly because of the insecure situation we are in in Mexico.

To give an added value to our users (mostly women) and taking advantage of the capacity of our engineers, a module was planned to also map the risk zones through user reports and government databases.

There has always been a commitment to society by Resser, that is why Safy participated in a government call focused on data analysis to combat and control the COVID-19. The result should be a map with the cases of COVID-19 registered by INSABI Hospitals and the reports raised by users.

In response to the need to collect data for the COVID-19 issue, we developed the SAFY Data Science Lab, which displayed a dashboard showing the behavior of the COVID-19 with data from the Ministry of Health and Safy users.

The challenge

PROBLEMATIC

Mexico has sad statistics of missing persons, Mexican society lives in constant fear of being a victim of a crime or, worse, of a loved one disappearing and the inability to find him/her. Unfortunately, there is an insufficiency at all levels of government to deal with the problem

PROPOSAL

Resser is a consolidated Mexican company with more than 35 years of experience in the security field, we are software developers and we have a talented innovation team; having these advantages and seeing the current situation in our country regarding insecurity, we decided to take action.  Through different focus groups, UX testing, personal interviews and feedback from our users we have been strengthening Safy, we want the society to see Safy as an ally to protect their ones.

Safy is an app that gives users the choice to share their location, create networks and safe zones with their loved ones. We want to be the bridge between our users and the most valuable part of their lives: their family and friends.

Safy is an app where users, fluid and simple interactions were the cornerstones for its development. On the intangible side our users are of vital importance, so we focus on offering them a sense of security and if they are unfortunately victims of a crime, they can inform and alert the community. We firmly believe that, connected we are stronger.
